Narrative design
I have a very unique writing style. I excel at dialogue. I can very easily get into a characters mind set to write dialogue and what decisions they would make. I am also good at writing with and recognizing themes and symbolism. I tend to write in a more comedic or day to day style but I have done some serious writings.
Projects
Internship

I I had an internship as a narrative designer during the summer of 2025 at Picnic Game Labs.
- Miro, Jira
Blending In

3rd year narrative design project
Play as a chameleon with social anxiety trying to blend in with others.
- Unity, Miro
Trawl

2nd year project
A game about the dangers of trawling the ocean depths
- Twine, Celtx
Internship
I was given a full story to read over and was tasked with writing descriptions for characters, group of people and locations for artists. I also added my interpretation to what was written having the whole story in mind. The best example is since one of the group of people grew up on small islands surrounded by water I suggested using native Hawaiian and Indonesian culture as inspiration but with some metal and technology interwoven.
Company: Picnic Game Labs
Position: Narrative Designer
Location: Remote
Engine: Unity
Genre: 2D Puzzle
From June 2025 - Sept2025

Journal Mock up
I also had to create journal entries for a different game that was much further along development. While it did have a vague guideline to what happens I added more detail and development for the side characters the player meets. I also got to create a new storyline for the main character's grandma. She went through the same path as the protagonist so I got the chance to write a younger version of everyone and tie somethings together and parallels from both character's journey.
Blending In
Role: Narrative Designer, Programmer
Engine: Unity
Genre: Narrative, Puzzle
Type: 3D
Team Size: Solo
Why: 3rd year narrative design project
Blending In is a narrative puzzle game about a chameleon with social anxiety / autism masking who has trouble getting through social interactions. So to get by he has to change his colours to others in order to fit in and get by.
From Sept 2024 - Dec 2024

narrative through gameplay
Story through levels
Guidelines
I wanted there to be no dialogue in the game. I wanted the story to be told through the gameplay but mostly the level and the environment.
Flow
Since there was no dialogue I wrote a list of things that could happen. Like what each level represents and the consequence that comes with social anxiety and masking.
Tests
After that I made a few mock up levels to see what could and couldn't be portrayed through the speechless levels, this included external playtesting with classmates.
Results
In the end I had 5 levels that showed different ways this struggle impacted the main character. It also changed school years every time to show it progressing.
Level's story
1. Elementary school: Player and character learns about their ability to mask and fitting in. This issue is still just a minor inconvenience.
2. Middle school: Has to go around through classrooms to get past people. Learns there are some people he can't blend in with.
3. Highschool: Has to go out of their way to take a longer route to classes because of people he can't fit in.
4. Highschool: Its gotten harder and harder to mask. Is surrounded by people in the cafeteria, has to frantically find a way out while bumping into people.
5. Post secondary: After all this time he has found someone he doesn't need to mask and makes a friend.

Trawl
Role: Narrative Designer
Engine: Twine, Celtx
Genre: Narrative
Type: Choices, multiple endings
Team Size: 5
Why: 1st year project
Trawl is a narrative game focusing on the malpractice of trawl fishing. You play as a marine biologist on a fishing boat with three fishermen. The player finds out they are able to speak with fish, all who've been affected by trawling. You then have to choose to continue your fishing or convince your sailor buddies to stop.
From Feb 2023 - March 2023

Researching
Fish Impact
I did research on the effects trawling has on specific species. Things like dolphins blowhole being clogged by items, octopuses getting tentacles chopped and fish's gills being damaged.
Environmental Impact
Then I did research of the environmental consequences of trawling. Coral get absolutely decimated because they are very fragile, meaning fish loose their home, the water get cleaned less and the fish also become less healthy causing fishers to make less money.
Why fishermen use trawling
Finally I did research of why they use trawling and found out about their pay, and job conditions. This was so I could use their perspective as to why they do it and put in the game the other perspective of the fishermen need money and are all struggling financially.
